Her wiki article is a little incomplete on her involvement, so if necessary I can write a more detailed synopsis of what she gets up to over the course of the game.

Personality: "Like I care what you think, jerk!" - Jackass

At first glance, Jackass seems exactly what her name says on the tin. She's easily irritated, verbally berates her subordinates for failing to meet her standards (and for not knowing how to make a simple bomb), and she has a pretty detatched, callous attitude towards unfortunate side effects of the experiments she does to satisfy her curiosity. For instance, after collecting data on android emotions during combat, she proceeds to make what gets called an E-drug, which lets androids get high... but not without side effects. But she just kind of shrugs at the side effects like whatever - anyone who uses them is taking the risk on themselves - and has no qualms giving the recipe to one of the YoRHa units who becomes addicted to it. Another time, she gives 2B / 9S a mackerel and says she wanted to know what the effects were on androids - she's heard it has "a horrible effect on androids" - hell, it might even kill them but whatever. It'll satisfy her curiosity! "Don't blame me if you die, though!"

Jackass also is not the slightest bit shy about calling out things she thinks are stupid or pointless or otherwise voicing her thoughts without care of the feelings of those around her. For example, between setting up combat experiments for 2B to run for her, she wonders aloud to her face why battle units like her were even given any intellect at all. On top of her bluntness, she's also quite impatient. Rather than move things around storage units in such a fashion that others could also access and use them, she uses bombs to move bins around quickly to get to whatever she's after ASAP and doesn't seem to care that she makes things harder on her subordinate that way - she even yells at him for getting trapped and being unable to free himself.

However she isn't completely without some form of caring in her own twisted way, though she prefers not to show it directly. After yelling at her subordinate, she then teaches (well... makes him learn...) how to make a bomb so that he won't be trapped again. She also sees 2B and 9S off when opening a way for them further into the desert with telling them not to be heroes. She's seen centuries of war at this point. She's seen a lot of other androids go off and die - even if she's excessive in her use of explosives and her tendency to experiment on others (a friend of hers told her off at one point for trying to fuse two other androids together, which... is a bit ... yeah....), she still doesn't like to see lives wasted needlessly. Plus, even if she's weird and blunt, she does have friends. She gives a cloak as a gift to one such friend (though she's a little tsundere about it, threatening 9S and 2B if they tell her friend why she bought it), and she exchanges routine correspondance with another old friend of hers who now happens to the Commander of YoRHa.

Indeed, she is genuinely upset about the Commander's death when The Bunker that serves as the HQ of YoRHa is destroyed. Included in one of the artbooks is what is apparently a eulogy Jackass says regarding her, and she talks about her being earnest and "downright stiff" but also incredibly kind, and she laments that it's just not fair. The world sucks, and it's all worthless. For all that Jackass puts up a front like she doesn't care and for all that she's here to satisfy her curiosity, she does deep down care about at least a few other people, and she reacts strongly to the idea of it all being meaningless.

At the very end of the game, Jackass investigates and compiles data left behind by the Machine Lifeforms and manages to connect the dots together of the hidden backstory of the game. Angry and upset by everything that was hidden from herself and other androids as well as the whole situation with the Machine Lifeforms, she compiles a report summarizing it all (in a somewhat unprofessional and clearly pissed off fashion) and sends it out, ending it with an oath to "kill ever evolutionary dead-end Machine Lifeform, as well as every single asshole behind Project YoRHa. I'm coming for all your heads. Fuck you."

Whether she follows through on this sense of betrayal and fury at the waste of lives and all the bullshit or not remains to be seen, but in the end she's left with anger and vengeance as her meaning for living.

Abilities:
Being An Android - Although she doesn't seem to be explicitly built as a combat unit, Jackass has been involved in the Android vs Machine Lifeform war for centuries. Between her explosions and her wits, she seems pretty capable of taking care of herself. Plus, as an Android if she gets damaged as long as her core remains in tact or she has a backup of her data somewhere, she can always repair herself given the appropriate materials. It's also likely she's modified herself over the course of things to be better at her job. It's worth noting that she is a lot heavier than she looks. Probably around 200 lbs of metal & lubricant not counting the explosives she seems to pretty much always have on hand or is able to build out of whatever is lying around.

Data Analysis - Her job is to compile and analyze data, pass it along, etc. Based on her prior relationship with the YoRHa Commander and the Commander mentioning a contact with the Resistance, it's entirely possible that Jackass is one of the ones responsible for passing information from the Resistance to YoRHa and vice versa! Anyway, the point is she's been doing her job for a long time and knows how to get information from wherever and piece clues together.

Hacking - On that note, while we are not explicitly told she can hack things, the fact that she is able to extract data from leftover Machine Lifeform stuff like the remnants of The Tower suggests that she is able to access and hack into other computer technology.

Science & Engineering - she can modify other androids and given the time to figure out the technology, I'm sure she'll be able to do all sorts of ethically questionable interesting things with the local steampunk tech too. She invents what's basically Android LSD from data on the emotions elicited by combat in YoRHa units, and her recipe for a basic bomb is pretty solid, so she's pretty handy with her hands and her mind.

Making & Using Explosives - kaboom! She uses explosives for everything from clearing rubble to reorganizing a storage room...

Alignment: Sosyne because Jackass is pretty irritable and has plenty of spikes of anger. Indeed, the note she signs out of the game on, so to speak, is literally a great big angry 'Fuck you.'
